Minister for Central Australia Karl Hampton today announced the local bands that will take the stage to support two of Australia’s top acts at October’s THE CONCERT in Alice Springs.
Mr Hampton said Smells Like September will return to its Alice home base to support The Living End and Missy Higgins, and popular hip hop act Catch the Fly will also perform.
“The Territory Government is proud to support an event such as THE CONCERT that not only brings headline acts to the Centre, but also gives local bands the opportunity to perform on the big stage alongside national acts,” Mr Hampton said. “Smells Like September will be returning home after relocating to Adelaide and recording its
debut EP.
“Singer Emily Ryan, drummer Callum MacKenzie, bassist Rohan Carmody and guitarist Sam Walker grew up together and played in local bands from an early age.
“And Catch the Fly is the Centre’s own brand of quality hip hop with MCs Dan the Underdog and McDee mixing it up with the soulful sounds of Sassy J sure to keep you moving. “Together with The Living End and Missy Higgins, these acts will make this year’s THE CONCERT one to remember.”
Tickets are on sale at Murray Neck Leading Edge Music or online through the NT Major Events website www.majorevents.nt.gov.au for $60 presale or $70 on the night.
Minister for Central Australia announced that leading Australian acts The Living End and Missy Higgins will headline this year’s major music event in Alice Springs, THE CONCERT.

“Missy Higgins and The Living End are both multi Aria award winning artists who are renowned for their live shows.
“THE CONCERT will again be a must-do date on the Alice Springs calendar with acts of this diversity and talent.
“There will also be an opportunity for a local band to take the stage as the support act, a great opportunity for Alice musos.
“I’ll be announcing more details about this opportunity soon but I urge all interested local acts to get their details to NT Major Events.
